Leader of The Nationals in the Senate, Ron Boswell, said today that local Councils in Central Queensland would receive a 'double whammy' Roads to Recovery payment, with an extra allocation of funds to be delivered for upgrading local government roads before the end of June this year.
"This is a huge boost for local Councils in Central Queensland, effectively doubling the amount of money available in the current financial year for fixing local roads through the Coalition's Roads to Recovery program," Senator Boswell said.
"For the residents of Capricornia, covering all or part of 11 Local Government areas in Central Queensland, it means a total extra injection for local roads of $4.3 million."
"Residents of all these North Queensland Council areas can look forward to travelling on improved, safer local roads as a result of better management of the economy by a Coalition Government that has now fully Cpaid off Labor's debt of $96 billion."
