Senator Ron Boswell spoke at Parliament House on 21 June 2012 in support of improved Human Rights Dialogue between Australia and Vietnam. He addressed a crowd of over 200 members of the Vietnamese community from across Australia, who presented him with a community petition that has gathered over 55,000 signatures.
Senator Boswell presented the petition to the Senate on the same day. He also successfully moved a motion in the Senate with Labor Senator Mark Furner that saw both sides of government, in a rare show of bipartisan support, agree on the need for improved Australia-Vietnam Human Rights Dialogue.
