Home Family Issues Former Deputy PM, John Anderson, to head Toowoomba function
Leader of The Nationals in the Senate, Ron Boswell, today confirmed that former Leader of the Nationals and Deputy Prime Minister, John Anderson, will be a special guest speaker at a function organised by local church representatives in Toowoomba on Monday night. “I am pleased to confirm that The Honourable John Anderson has agreed to come to Toowoomba on the 24th of September to speak in what will be one of his last official functions as a member of the Federal Parliament. Senator Boswell said that Mr Anderson's integrity, intelligence and charisma meant that people of all political backgrounds respected his views on a wide range of issues, from foreign aid to the place of Christianity in politics, to wheat marketing. “On Monday night, John Anderson has been asked to speak on the subject, “with the erosion of traditional values, can we save Australia?”  “John gave his valedictory speech in the House of Representatives this week, and I know that he has some strong views on future directions for Australia that will be of great interest to those in attendance in Toowoomba on Monday,” Senator Boswell said. The function will be held on Monday (24 September 2007) at 6pm at Toowoomba City Church in Neil Street, Toowoomba. ENDS’ Media Contact – 0428 714 779 or 07 3001 8150
